DAY SEVEN: Exhibit Christ
God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.
(1 Corinthians 6:20, MSG)
May be you have been wondering why people aren’t repenting when the gospel is being preached almost everywhere, everyday: in the streets, in buses, in churches and all the places. And probably the answer you have managed to get is that indeed the god of this world has blinded their eyes. As much as I fully concur with this fact but allow me to submit to you that we who are already born again have in one way or the other made our gospel unattractive to the unbelievers. We haven’t been able to portray it as we ought to have. We have preached one thing and lived the exact opposite and this has brought confusion to many of the people we are trying to win over. People understand better the things that they see than those that they hear. What they see makes a lasting impression than what is spoken. It is not our eloquence in speech or the choicest words that we use to preach that will win the people we are preaching to but it will be our manner of life and the way in which we conduct ourselves. Let what we preach be what we live. Let us eliminate the gospel of ‘do as I say and not as I do.’ This is the time to say “I am not be eloquent in speech and not very good in explaining things, but do as I do because I am doing what I am saying.” You have to come to a point where you say, “if you find it difficult to comprehend what I am preaching then look at the way I do things and mimic me.” As a matter of fact, as I have already said, what you have seen lingers in your mind longer than what you have heard. Let us walk worthy of the calling with which we have been called. Let us exhibit the Christ-like lifestyle and let our conduct be pleasing to God. Not that I am implying that we are saved to go to heaven, but may be keeping this question in your mind might help you to some extant: “If Jesus would come back and find me doing what I am doing now, would I have the courage to face Him?”
Speak less with your mouth but let the life that you live speak volumes about your commitment to God. Let your light so shine before man.
“When you value what you carry, nobody will tell you not to commit sin.”
Walk worthy of the calling
